Guava Cinnamon Rolls

By Christie

Guava Cinnamon Rolls

‌‌I have been thinking about this recipe for a while.  Thinking about it, doing it, and thinking about it some more.

First I started using strawberry sauce and it was an epic fail. The sauce was not thick enough and made the buns too saggy.

But then I saw this guava preserve and thought…guava, cinnamon, brown sugar, and then this idea was on.

Grilled Halloumi Salad with Quinoa and Dry Figs

By Christie

Grilled Halloumi Salad with Dried Figs

If you haven’t tried Halloumi you should definitely make it your next task.

Halloumi is an originally greek white cheese made usually from sheep’s milk. Although it is very common to find Halloumi cheese made with a combination of sheep, cow and goat milk.

It is a little salty and rubbery. It also has a higher melting point, which makes it perfect for grilling and frying. Once it has been grilled it gets crunchy outside and very creamy inside, a total delight!

Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos

Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos with Avocado Crema

This is one of those recipes that you make once and you can’t wait to make it again and again.

We love to dine at Bazille cafe in Nordstrom in the International Mall in Tampa.

Since my last name is routine, I always order the warm asian chicken salad (which I still need to recreate!) but like a month ago we tried their cilantro lime chicken tacos and we loved them. We had them as an appetizer (“to share”) and we ended up ordering another serving for each, it is that good!

Quiche with Mushrooms and Fontina Cheese

By Christie

Quiche with Mushrooms and Fontina Cheese

Quiche to me is the combination of a savory pie crust filled with a frittata – excusez moi to the great food definition masters out there. But it actually is!

It is a delicious custard-filled with vegetables and your favorite cheese or combination of cheeses and all this deliciousness is surrounded by a pie crust. What’s not to love?

There is only one complication about making quiche … deciding what to fill it up with!

Fresh Cherry Coolers

Fresh Cherry Fresca

As soon as the summer kicks in I start thinking about drinks, ice cream, and new recipes for summer.

I am not a big alcohol drinker, other than an occasional good glass of wine. I love red wine and of course a good rosé.

As you probably already know I love, love cherries. Especially the dark ones in the middle of summer. I find them juicier and sweeter. Beautiful addicting little bites!

Roasted Corn on the Cob with Roasted Red Pepper Butter

Roasted Corn on the Cob with Roasted Red Peppers Butter

If you think that grilled corn is good you are going to love roasted corn.

We tend to grill corn – it is a great veggie to grill while entertaining, barbecuing or just for your family or yourself.

Roasted corn however, is the best way to enjoy it in my opinion. Roasted veggies overall are amazing – roasting the veggies concentrates the flavor, enhances the sweetness, and if you let it char a little is out of this world.

The best part is that it gives the stove a rest and there is very little cleanup afterwards! You don’t particularly need a recipe, just a splash of olive oil, a pinch of salt and pepper and voila!

Comforting and full of flavor, super easy to put together and ready in 30 minutes.

Although it’s delicious with pappardelle (or any other pasta tbh) we love it with campanelle since you get chunks of the meaty sauce in every bite!! And served with fresh burrata is simply to live for!

Hope you’re having a good week! ♥️
