Strawberry Sauce

By Christie

Strawberry Sauce

You can call it strawberry syrup, topping…but the truth is that there’s nothing better than homemade strawberry sauce.

It is one of those super easy and quick recipes (less than 30 minutes!) and trust me when I tell you that is way better than the store-bought stuff, honestly!

Strawberry Sauce

You should definitely give this recipe a try, especially if you like to brunch on the weekends. This sauce is great on waffles, pancakes, toasts, cakes. Not to mention on ice cream, yogurt, parfait, panna cotta, overnight oats and cheesecake!. You can use it on drinks, smoothies, cocktails, mocktails, you name it!

Strawberry Sauce

You could also add a hint of wine or  balsamic vinegar, it all depends on your preference. I added a couple of tablespoons of rose to ours and it was a total success. It added a touch of tang to the sauce making it incredibly delicious!

Strawberry Sauce

Nothing beats the fact that it is made in no time and that you also know and control what’s in your sauce.

I like to serve it at room  temperature.

I really hope you give this recipe a try and let me know what you think!

Enjoy!

Strawberry Sauce

Yield: About 7-8 oz

Strawberry Sauce

Ingredients

16 oz or 2 cups of fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

3 tbs of sugar or swerve or truvia

2 tbs of fresh lemon juice

1 tsp of vanilla extract

2 tbsp of rose wine or water

Instructions

Place strawberries in a medium saucepan. Add sugar, lemon and the vanilla extract.

Cook uncovered at medium/low heat for about 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Add the wine or water, stir and let simmer for 5 more minutes.

Transfer the sauce to a jar and blend with an immersion blender or place in the blender and process until you obtain the desired consistency.
